Teresa Mundt

Teresa Mundt lives in Buderim on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.  Her preferred medium is acrylic, and she enjoys a diverse range of subject matter from contemporary portraiture, the nude figure, to streetscape and landscape painting.

Teresa’s inspiration comes largely from musings of her own life, and observations of people and landscapes in inspirational colour.  Teresa’s work as a freelance cartoonist has strongly influenced her painting subject matter and style.  Her naive landscape paintings have been described as ‘reminiscent of the fauvists’, and Teresa’s use of bold primaries is characteristic of all her works.

Teresa exhibits her paintings at group exhibitions across south-east Queensland, and her works are represented in collections Australia-wide.  Noteworthy accolades include:

- Grand Champion painting, Bell & District Art Exhibition 2012 (“Sultry Sally”)
- Reserve Champion painting, Bell & District Art Exhibition 2009 (“Cafe by the Quay”)
- Winner of the Kenneth McQueen Memorial Prize for Seascape/Landscape, Toowoomba Royal Show 2008 (“Road to Bell”)
- Winner of MacGregor Winter Art School Scholarship 2007 (“Nude Dressing her Hair”)
